THIS YEAR, KÄRNTNER SPARKASSE AG’S SUSTAINABILITY AWARD GOES TO KLH MASSIVHOLZ WIESENAU GMBH AND WEISSENSEER HOLZBAUSYSTEMBAU GMBH.
Sustainability, innovation and respectful handling of resources are the future and have already led to success. Out of all those who entered the contest, KLH Massivholz Wiesenau GmbH (Förderpreis.nachhaltig 2021) based in Bad St. Leonhard and Weissenseer Holz-Systembau GmbH (KWF.NACHHALTIG 2021) emerged victorious.
Universitätsclub Kärnten, together with Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt and other partners have been organising the “Landschaft des Wissens” (literally ‘landscape of knowledge’) event for 8 years now. Its most prominent topics centre around ‘rethinking’ landscapes and Carinthia’s architectural culture.
Moreover, two awards were handed out in the course of the event. First of all, the KWF.nachhaltig award worth 5,000 Euros offered by the Carinthian Economic Support Fund (KWF) and secondly, the 3,000-Euro Förderpreis.nachhaltig award offered by Kärntner Sparkasse.
The winners received their trophies from Governor Peter Kaiser at Weissensee Haus. He congratulated the companies, highlighting the importance of a change of mindset towards sustainability and resource preservation in the industry, but also in politics and society.
