We pioneered the manufacture of cross-laminated timber (Kreuzlagenholz – KLH®, CLT, X-LAM) and have developed the product in cooperation with the Technical University of Graz in 1996. After many years of research and development, we opened our production facility in Teufenbach – Katsch in 1999 and have gradually extended it.
We operate internationally which is why our large-formate KLH® solid timber boards are not just used in Europe, but all across the globe as wall, ceiling and roof elements in structural timber construction. KLH Massivholz GmbH is fully owned by Johann Offner Unternehmensgruppe, a traditional family business with a history of more than 250 years.
KLH Massivholz GmbH and KLH Massivholz Wiesenau GmbH are committed to acting responsibly in terms of the environment, both internally and externally.
We emphasize the inseparability between quality, environmental protection and energy efficiency. Therefore, we have established an environmental management system according to EN ISO 14001 and anchored it in our quality management.
WE ARE COMMITTED
- To the conservation of resources by sourcing our raw material from sustainably managed forests
- To the environmentally friendly use of technologies and manufacturing processes
- Minimizing CO2 emissions through efficient procurement and sales logistics
- To increase energy efficiency by using by-products for our own energy supply
- Actively avoiding and minimizing waste
- To reduce pollutants and emissions
- To protect soil, water and air
Our service offerings range from general technical advice, structural pre-measurement of KLH® solid timber boards, the assessment of building components from a structural physics perspective all the way to the development of project-specific construction details. Research and development have always accompanied us in the process. Upon request, we also support our customers with the creation of works plans and project optimisation. Precisely cut to fit in the factory, the elements are delivered directly to the construction site.
We see ourselves not just as a manufacturer, but rather as a project partner for architects, construction engineers and executing companies. We also gladly serve as advisers for private and public clients in the development of plans for the construction of a solid timber structure.
Our customers value us as a reliable partner in demanding timber construction of lasting value and can capitalise on our more than 20 years of experience.
As a project partner, we see our co-operative attitude as an essential part of our philosophy. As a team, we work across departmental disciplines, both internally and externally.
