Refuge Wallon Marcadau

Project Info

The Wallon Marcadau refuge had to be delivered by helicopter due to a lack of road access. Its conversion combines the preservation of historic stone buildings with modern elements such as a stainless steel ceiling and a timber supporting structure, resulting in a uniform, contemporary appearance. The construction is based on KLH® – CLT, which enabled a sustainable, modular construction method with prefabricated elements. Tradition and modernity thus enter into an architectural dialog.
