This year saw the premier of KLH’s newly developed construction system for 6 and 8 storeys
One thing was plainly obvious at the World Congress at Vienna University: Timber construction has redefined itself through solid timber construction using cross-laminated timber panel elements. More than 1,200 participants from 46 nations and some 800 lectures in a mere four days have made WCTE in Vienna a truly extraordinary experience for the scientific, research and industrial community alike. The event focussed on knowledge transfer in all directions.
At the WCTE 2014 in Quebec City, Canada, KLH, in its role as a pioneer and leading manufacturer of cross-laminated timber, decided to engage in premium partnerships in Vienna. KLH thus invited its guests to its Premium Partner Lounge to account for networking and to allow for active exchange of experiences between the different countries.
At the trade fair stand, it, among others, presented its newly developed solid timber construction system for 6 and 8 storey residential buildings which, apart from design details pays particular attention to aspects of statics and building physics and represents an economical overall solution.
The WCTE Special showcases a selection of projects that were built using KLH solid timber elements. KLH doesn't see itself merely as a supplier of panels but as a project partner with – by now – almost 20 years of experience.
