With their excellent structural properties due to a cross-wise structure and their load transferring ability toward all sides, KLH® solid cross-laminated timber boards meet all requirements for high-quality, innovative and technically sophisticated structural timber engineering.

bearing capacity

Their high load-bearing capacity in combination with a low dead weight allows a lean design of components even in case of large spans. Point-supported constructions or projections can be realised in a simple and economically feasible manner.

Numerous surveys and tests have shown that klh® solid cross-laminated timber boards are also perfectly suitable for the construction of stable buildings in earthquake zones.

KLH® solid cross-laminated timber boards are calculated under the aspect of flexibly connected profiles. The longitudinal plies are connected through shear-compliant cross plies so that as a rule, deflection as a result of transverse force (shear deformations of the cross plies) and the so-called roll shear can no longer be disregarded. Thus, KLH® solid cross-laminated timber boards cannot be treated like glulam components when it comes to static calculations. Dimensioning and construction are either carried out in accordance with EN 1995-1-1 and EN 1995-1-2 (Eurocode 5) in consideration of the European Technical Assessment (ETA-06/0138, p.17) or the Allgemeine Bauaufsichtliche Zulassung [general technical approval] (Z-9.1-482). The static proof for KLH® solid cross-laminated timber boards must be carried out separately for every project and the locally applicable standards and regulations must be complied with.
